Professional

Greetings prospective employer. I’m guessing that you’re looking at this particular page because you are interested in learning more about me and what I can do for you and your business. If not, then you’re possibly not looking at the right place.
Assuming that you are indeed interested in me in professionally, I’ll start with…

The basics

My name is Konstantine Thoukydidis and I was born in 11/23/1980 in Thessaloniki, Greece but I have been a resident of Frankfurt, Germany since the November of 2006.

I have been interested and working with IBM computers ever since I was a 9 year old kid but my professional career in IT started in mid-2002.
Although I am specialized in Systems and Network administration, I also have considerable experience in Service Desk support and Hardware troubleshooting. Furthermore I also have a familiarity with programming, web design and databases.
Finally, I also have a diploma in Computer Sciences from a two-year college that I have finished with 4 scholarships and a final grade of 18/20. I do tend to give more weight on actual experience than theoretical knowledge though.

My main expertise is on the Windows platform, which I have managed for almost 3 years as an Active Directory domain administrator and have used for more than 8 years as a simple power user before that.
Furthermore, I have also used various enterprise tools such as the Citrix Metaframe Server, Legato Backup System and Ghost Server. Nonetheless I also have a strong footing and a healthy dose of enthusiasm for the Linux OS and free software in general of which I have implemented solutions as well.

My previous employers include a small computer sales & support shop, as well as one the largest retail chains in Greece, Fokas companies group.
My current employer is Serco Gmbh which have placed me as an external consultant in the European Central Bank where I am working in the IT Department, providing a mix of 1st and 2nd line support.
Finally, a sum of all this can seen in my Curriculum Vitae which you can find in a handy Open Document (.odt), Microsoft Word (.doc) and Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format.

It’s easy to drop names and buzzwords around and hope to dazzle, but if you’re wondering how this can translate to actual production value to you, then read on…

  • 13.10 Quote of the Day: Capitalism

    Quoth the Barefoot Bum

The problem our capitalist economy faces is not how to feed everyone, but how to make a profit feeding everyone.

Aptly said and so true. We would have no problem feeding everyone on the planet but the capitalists can’t make a profit that way and this goes for most goods.

Just look at the situation with Intellectual Property where the right holders are trying to reign in infinite goods just because they can’t figure out a business plan to make money out of them.

    Quoth Xenos

Those who parade their history as an excuse for laziness and incompetence will soon discover that they have no future.

  • 28.08 Quote of the Day: Science contribution

Quoth Matthew Cob and Jerry Coyne

You suggest that science may bring about “advances in theological thinking”. In reality, the only contribution that science can make to the ideas of religion is atheism.
