What I can do for you

In this age of shiny diplomas and fancy buzzwords, it’s easy to get impressed with a candidate that has a lot of papers to show and can say the right words at the right moment.

I could follow that path as well, but I prefer to be chosen for my true worth rather than my glib of mouth and shiny Colgate teeth.
This is why the section exists, to show you, the potential employer…

What I can do for you

But first, you might be interested in a little history.

I believe I have many talents, but my strongest points are my innovation, speed and enthusiasm in my work. This is the reason why I have chosen this extremely dynamic line of work and why I can’t even think myself of doing anything else.

My preferred position is in the role of the Systems Administrator where I believe I can put all my current abilities to use. From speedy responses to malfunctions in the network or servers, to discovering ways to bypass and solve those problems - I have a strange intuition for those - to creating new tools (scripts, servers etc) just because I can.

I am very good at following deadlines as well. No, scrap that, I actually prefer to have them, so that I get motivated. I hate being bored. In those cases where I do have idle time to kill, I usually spend it on learning about new technology and finding ways to use that. If you leave me alone, you’re bound to gain a few new toys.

Do you want documentation? I can do that as well, whether it is for users or technical staff. As you’ve probably noticed by now, most of my work is also available in step-by-step guides so you have a handy example, but just for the record let me note that I have created ample guides and manuals for the users in the enterprise and have a little teaching experience as well.

If these aren’t enough, I can also support through help desk and have finely honed telephone manners as well (scalable to power users, users and management) as the case may be.

Finally, if you have a varied environment, not only have I got a few peripheral skills (programming, SQL, Web design) that could be of use, but I also am great at learning. Just ask me to do something. I will either do it, or take the time to learn how to do it first. My Google-fu is powerful.

This is it really. If you think you might have something suitable for me, don’t hesitate to contact me so that we can discuss it further.

  • 28.08 Quote of the Day: Science contribution

Quoth Matthew Cob and Jerry Coyne

You suggest that science may bring about “advances in theological thinking”. In reality, the only contribution that science can make to the ideas of religion is atheism.

    Quoth Pat Condell

Because you see I’m not in the market for a car, any car. I decided to walk. That’s going to take me where I’m going because I’m going where it takes me. And I’ll be happy to get there. In fact, I already am.

As always it was another excellent vid from Pat, but this particular quote was just brilliant.
