@Scheisskopf: I Agree. If only game developers realize that MS is not on their side. Unfortunately, big companies like EA, prefer to deal with big companies like MS.

@Mr. Pink: I changed distributions because I wanted to see how the others were like and because I like to fiddle with things.
Incidentally, that was the original reason I tried Linux as well...it was just so good that I decided to stay.

@Kosmas: There is a group of guys that is installing Linux on Old People's Homes. They prefer it over buggy, virus ladden and slow windows. I cannot find the link right now but I think it was in the Blog of Helios.
Also, your aunt will not need to find out how to install it, once it gets pre-installed on her new computer instead of windows. Nevertheless, I have shown Linux to a few computer illiterate people and all of them, all-of-them, were impressed. They were people that did not play games or user Photoshop.

I have played some of the few games available in Linux ports. Enemy Territory, for one. With a real time, pre-emptively multitaqsking kernel, it is a sweet, fast and very stable experience. Surprisingly so. In some cases, a better experience than Windows.

ID Software spurred this and has shown that Linux is a credible game platform. All that is needed now is Linux to reach that critical mass of desktop installs and the will, on the part of the game development houses, to do the ports.

I am sure that there is no end to the pressure that MS brings to bear on these developers to not do the ports. That is, after all, the Microsoft Way.

@Mr. Pink: You still argue for the sake of arguing. I have still not seen any arguments from you.

It is, in fact, just a matter of time that Linux/FOSS will rule the IT world

I don't think you can claim anything to be a FACT if it didn't happen yet.

@Victor: I do not believe MS has the option of releasing its own distro. For one thing, it would say to all the people in the world, that Windows is just not good enough anymore. For another thing, they will not be able to continue with the lock-in as they did before since people will be learning to use 'nix systems instead of MS

@ Mr. Pink: Do you have any arguments or is trolling your favorite pastime?
