I will talk about the term itself as part of the series too. In very
short, Pirates are simply not what they have been historically or
contemporary painted by the ruling elite.

I think you're conceding too much to the other side by accepting the term "piracy". To compare sharing to brigands that make a living kidnapping and robbing people is ridiculous and the term should not be used by freedom loving people.

In my opinion there is no such thing as "intellectual property" unless it remains solely within your own head and nowhere else. Once it's out there, it's out there.

haven't read the whole article (it is rather long) but your conclusion is spot on, and it also applies to other forms of media such as music and movies. I'm quite sick and tired of hearing people complain about piracy especially when it comes from huge corporations or very wealthy artists.
