I’ve finally decided to package up my personal hacked version of Simplelife and put it up as a standalone plugin in the codex. I’s a pity that I have to do this because I would have preferred to cooperate with Kieran (the dev) instead of doing it all on my own. Unfortunately however, Kieran has been caught up with life and he has not responded when I asked the collaborate on the plugin development. This is why I decided to fork it under the name:
ComplexLife
This lifestreaming WP plugin provides the following:
- All the features provided with version 1.1 of Simplelife (the point of the fork) and I will also attempt to merge any new future changes as well [1. Unfortunately I couldn't start from 1.3 as it seems that the uploaded version is still 1.1]
- Support for as many and as obscure services as possible. I have already included stuff that no one else does like PMOG, Atheist Nexus, Cocomments, Getboo etc.
- Longer history via utilizing google reader.
- Comment tracking from everywhere. That is, each time you leave a comment in the blogosphere or in a forum, it will show in your lifestream (AFAIK, no other lifestreaming service does this)
- Pie Charts.
Extra text in front of each item and custom link titles.- Open delevopment. That is, I will be very open in case anyone wants to join me in improving it.
I have very low php skills so if you want me to do anything funky, I’ll probably ask you to code it yourself and send it to me - Licenced under GPL3 [2. Not certain if I can switch to AGPL3 from GPL2, anyone know?]

These are all stuff that I’d like. Not certain I can code them
An Ajaxy settings page where the user selects from the top which services he needs to use and then only they appear- Unlimited custom feeds. User should be able to put a number on a field and get that many custom rss fields to use.
- Integration with the plugin cache if it exists for faster speeds.
- Allow variables to be set on the plugin php call which would allow it to be included, say, in the sidebar but showing only the last 5 actions.
- A way for it to export an rss file which can be used by people elsewhere. This file could be created/updated every time it’s called, every time the plugin runs or with a cronjob. I’d appreciate ideas on this. Can Simplepie even do something like that?
