For me, I like the idea of (for instance) a strong EPA and FDA doing the jobs that those organizations are chartered to perform, however, I seriously believe that the current incarnations of both organizations must be dissolved so people can dissuade themselves of the delusion that these groups are fulfilling their charters. Just because people say they are anarchists, or state socialists, or minarchists, doesn't necessarily mean they are substantially different from each other. They may have fuzzy ideas about their own ideals, and they may be willing to accept ideals outside of their own preferred ideology. For example, I call myself an anarcho-communist. I feel like I have enough in common with pretty much all anarchists that I can support them (since getting rid of the state would get rid of the police, and thus make the property relations of anarcho-communism possible). I also feel that I have enough in common with non-authoritarian communists/socialists that I could support them (since getting rid of private property would create the class relations necessary for a representative democracy to function in a manner which is representative of popular interests, and not solely the interests of the rich). I'm not so opposed to minarchism, or even a full-out socialist government, provided it's implemented with a directly democracy.So, while I may have said I'm a social anarchist, I was leaving out a lot of important information. I think it would be worthwhile to add questions about specific overlaps and compatibility between ideologies. Questions about the role of government (as a protector of rights, as a mutual-aid organization, as a leader, etc.), about private property, personal property, and common property (e.g. which one should be the predominant kind of property? Should any of them be removed from society?) and other items which make the ideologies what they are should be asked. Then, there could be a multiple-choice for which ideologies you could support, if they had the ability to replace the existing political and economic system.
