An anonymous quote about “Anarcho”-Capitalism.
Quoth Anonymous
I would love to see an “anarcho” capitalist rally, a bunch of rich white teenagers and a few rich, white, bourgeois economists.
Btw, charge up your lazers irony capacitors and check out the rest of the quotes in the article this comment quote was taken from.
This is especially ironic coming from a socialist – who believes that the proletariat have no other fate than to be exploited in ever-greater numbers, until exploitation reaches every corner of the globe – and only *then* do the rich socialists in the bourgeois nations theorize that there'll be a worldwide revolution to end their suffering. Till then, just hold on! It's only a few generations away. We think. Or live in a commune, if there's one in your country. And trust us, those people bringing you cheap food and affordable houses and clean water are just exploiting you. They're your mortal enemies, unless they join your revolutionary sit-around-until-it-happens "movement."
Seriously, I'm assuming you've been to a socialist rally or conference. The level of worker involvement is ridiculously low. It's made up, as you say, of rich white teenagers, a few rich, white, bourgeois adults, and one or two minorities who are lavished with attention – because they're so rare. The AnCaps just don't bother with the last step.
When us neoliberals have brought healthcare, good nutrition and education to every corner of the globe, there'll still be a band of Marxists calling us traitorous half-hearted bourgeois sympathizers…
Forgive me if I'm being overly harsh, although frankly I doubt I am. I've just quit smoking. I'm in a foul mood.
Unfortunately a revolution cannot happen without the people's support. You can't have a small band of socialists changing the world alone when nobody else wants to follow, unless they do it through a dictatorship, in which case it's not socialism anymore.
That doesn't mean we sit twiddling out thumbs or escape to communes. We talk, we convince, we explain but words can only go so much. No matter how well your arguments, people rarely change their mind while in their comfort zone. The reason why revolutions happen during social upheavals is that a very large amount of people are violently thrown out of their confort zones and suddenly all the things the socialists said start to sound convincing.
And of course we don't claim that a world-wide revolution will "come" from somewhere outside, but rather we explain that we are the ones who need to make it happen.
People who bring cheap food and other commodities usually do it on the backs of the former colonies and the rest of the 3rd world nations who produce cheaply. In effect, their bribing their local radicals to sleep with the blood of those you can't see.
Bhaaaaahahaha! Yes, you do that now. Because I've seen how well neoliberal policies have managed to feed, clothe and educate people until now. After all the healthcare, nutrition and education of the vanguard neoliberal nation in the world, the US, has been steadily increasing in the last 30 year…oh wait.
That's because you live in the US probably, with a ridiculous amount of anti-socialist propaganda, where even the word 'socialist' is a scare word. Try going to any other nation and say that again. The less developed a nation and the more manual and brutal the industry, the more powerful and numerous the socialists. Which is another reason why there are so few in the US, since they have outsourced most of their manual labour.
