Huh? Sure, people who don't have callouses need shoes *more*, but there are plenty of reasons why people WITH callouses also wear shoes … It's not like having callouses mean you can't fit your shoes, or that your shoes are more uncomfortable, or cause any other problem ….
Yes, but if you have true callouses, you don't need shoes. You can actually walk on glass without feeling anything. Perhaps you should have protection in the snow, but other than that, shoes are kinda useless.
I've been trying to walk barefoot lately. Really painful, developing those callouses. I'm sure there's a metaphor in that one too.
You're missing the point. It's not that callouses don't allow shoe using, or that shoe using might not have some uses even when you have calluses. The point is that wearing shoes won't allow you to develop calluses which in turn make you dependent on always using shoes.
