I just found out carnage blender. It’s a game where you take the role of managing a team of gladiators and you take on other team constantly increasing your stats and abilities. It’s pretty addictive and it also sports a nice chat feature to use while you fight around. (I currently can’t due to the damn firewall at work 🙁 ). In any case I happily wasted a few hours kicking some butt until I answered wrong a bot-test question and got locked out for 60 mins…damn those letters are hard to make out.

Yesterday night something irritating happened at my outing. I went out originally by myself because as always I couldn’t find anyone to come with me. So I found a friend at the [tag]X Club[/tag] and hanged out near her for a while. She was there with her friends and at some point I said something that could be taken both humorously and as an insult to one of her friends. Well guess how she took it…In any case, I apologized if I offended in which her reply was literally “To by balls!” How’s that for woman’s grace. In any case I didn’t waste any more time with that bitch but turned my attention to the rest of the crowd. At some point later someone spilled a glass or something behind me, wetting even me. I didn’t give much notice until I saw said girl pointing at me. Confused I assumed they were making a joke or something so I smiled at which point she came with the same bitchy attitude and demanded that I pay for the drink that I spilled. Things degenerated quickly and I decided to bail out because she was both drunk and bitchy and I wasn’t going to ruin my mood for her. Unfortunately it seems she didn’t waste time to tell our common friend that I was to blame. I don’t know how it will develop the next time I see her (them?). Oh well.

The rest of the night sucked.

Well, I’ve started playing two games on the net. The Kingdom of Loathing is an excellent humorous MORPG that anyone should play at least once. Loads of fun and a complete waste of time to boot.
As I was looking to find one on the same style only a bit more serious and maybe with better gameplay I stumbled onto Strive for power which is very nice. However the fact that you can’t really play if you are not a subscriber (20 ap per hour is not enough to even move around) and that I can’t shell out the kind of money a subscription costs (it is only slightly less than a MMORPG) makes me search around for something else.

Now, I’m at work again and boredom is creeping slowly but steadily in. I have to check our network for virii and the tools never seem to work right. It seems one of them snuck into an unprotected win98 machine and started flooding the network with packets. The routers held but the accelerator puked and started doing whatever it wanted. A technician from it’s mother company had to connect to locate problem and trace it back to the original machine. Needless to say this was blamed (mildly) on me and I had to recheck all the machines for correct definitions and scan engines. bleh.
Now I have to send 4 laserjets to stores around Greece and I hate carrying.

My Linux enthusiasm has waned as well, I just can’t get off my lazy butt and find out why gkrellm2 segfaults all the time. At least Amarok seems to have stabilized since I started using the xine engine. It seems it was something to do with the alsa driver but the steps I took didn’t trace the problem.

Relationship is a mixed deal as well. I’m still hanging out with my new friend but it isn’t going to happen. There were some close encounters but unfortunately nothing special. At least an older acquaintance showed up and may be available for coffee soon.

This is really stupid! I just can’t believe how stupid women can be at times!
So I’ve been going out with this girl for the last week ALL THE FUCKING TIME and we have a good time ALL THE FUCKING TIME but when I try to kiss her she pulls away. She is not ready for a relationship – she says. She thinks that she will treat me badly – she says. Never mind the fact that we could be fucking married with all the time we’ve been spending together…

This is really, really sad. Why can’t a nice guy get the good girl he wants? Why do they prefer the jerk-kind of man and fall for them and stay with them for many damn years while I can’t hold a relationship for more than a couple of months? The fact that they seem to always break up because they “Have personal/psychological problems” or because they think that “I’m too fucking nice” for them (emphasis mine) is just icing on the cake!
I guess the only solution is to become a jerk myself. Yeah, that’s it, act like a nice guy on stupid chicks to get them to open their legs and then ignore them until they go away. Shouldn’t be too hard to do…only I won’t do it.
It may be the easy (sex) way but I just won’t lower my standards. (I’d like to see me say that a couple of years from now on the same situation…)

However this situation still pisses me off. If I can’t do anything with a girl that I know likes me, where do I stand? Am I too nice for my own good? I have a feeling that no matter what Diane says the dude is right…

Yesterday I was talking with a good friend of mine and he told me this little wisdom:

You must not be too perfect for a woman. If you do that you just let them walk all over you, and you can never hold out long enough. What you must do is make them happy with less. If you give them everything at the start they’ll start asking for even more later but if you give them just a few they’ll be happy when you do act normally, even for a little while.

Yestrday I met this very beautiful girl (she told me she used to work as a model and I believe her) at X club, as I was out with some mates for a drink, and we got to talking. After a while and after her friends dumped her we moved to Dizzy to continue. We chatted, we laughed, we touched and all in all my libido got some help. Now we talked through messages on the phone and decided to meet today as well. I don’t know how it will turn out but I sincerely hope it turns out for the best.

Finally set Fluxbox up and running, learned about slits, dockapps, and some other stuff. Now the thing is starting to look cool!
I also set up my Smoothwall and I can finally feel secure enough. I can see a whole lot of portscanning going on but hopefully it doesn’t get past my smoothie. I was afraid its setup was going to be hard but it was a breeze.

Yesterday I also went with my sister to my cousin’s village to “celebrate” easter. It wasn’t as boring as I thought but it wasn’t very great either. Greek Ethnic tends to annoy me.

The last few days have seen a great deal of late night drinking and dancing/headbanging. I spend too much money and I don’t get any hot nekkid chickz…*sigh*

Now I’ve also heard who’s coming for this Summer. Megadeth, Dio, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden and a whole lot of others. I’m going to turn into a ping-pong ball to manage to see all those and I also will need to save a lot of money as well. The Rockwave prices are preposterous as well, I mean WTF 60€ for black sabbath and 45€ for the rest? What do they think we are? We should go to Bulgaria with 15 euros…

I also need to go out today and must still find some company to do it…grr

Bah, I hate being on the verge os sickness.

Right now I’m weak, irritated, my throat almost hurts, my eyes almost hurt and I feel very heavy. bleh!

Meeting over

Yesterday I met with Michael Kalopoulos. He is more wise than I expected, although he did have some Ethnic positions that bordered on racism. He is a pretty nice guy and he didn’t even seem to mind that I talked to him in singular.
I spent most of the time listening (although I managed to steal a few minutes to rant about the situation with the European patents). I’ll try to visit that place again, the people in it seem very friendly.

Interesting connections

Well, the last few days have been interesting. First of all I met a very nice girl and we went together to the theater (That’s a first time for me). It was actually a pretty good show. We has a very good time altogether this Saturday and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
My interest is once again waning on [tag]WoW[/tag], I don’t want to abandon my guild but if my excitement doesn’t pick up soon…
Now for the interesting stuff. As I was searching for the Greek Scandals of the Church that happened lately, I stumbled onto a site of a [tag]book[/tag] on the bible, The Great Lie. The examples where quite an interesting read and I mailed the writer to congratulate him on his work. After some mail exchange I decided to call him at home (he lives in Thessaloniki as well) and after some talk we decided to meet in person today. Some friends might be coming with me and I’m pretty excited about this.
Also I stumbled into a great site on [tag]atheism[/tag] that makes for a great read while at work.
Work has also been full these days which is good since I don’t like to sit around doing nothing all day.

It’s goot to feel good. I think I’m going to watch some Babylon 5 while I wait for the time to come.

PS: Oh, I also discovered Sonata Arctica yesterday. These guys are pretty good.

Just got back home. I was supposed to go out with a friend but he kept throwing one problem after another. In the end I went out alone and I couldn’t say I has a good time.
Now I’m sleepy and thinking of the damn ex. I wonder when that will pass…
